NM Farzad Abdi shared 1-2nd place with GM Ivanov,
scoring 4.5 points out of 6 for a +6 to 2256 rating.

Ivanov recovered from his loss to Carissa Yip in Round 1
of the NE Open 2014 and bounced back to share
1-2nd place with Farzad Abdi. Way'ta go guys!
NM Mika Brattain, Massachusetts State Champion 2014
scored 4 points out of 6 to share 3-6th place with
IM Bill Paschall, FM Steve Winer, and NM Andrew Liu
FM Chris Chase BCC Scholastics Program Czar
and former BCC Champion, scored 3.5 points
to share 7-8th place with Sherif Khater.
Chase dropped 2 games, one to GM Ivanov in the
last round and one to up-and-coming junior star,
NM Siddharth Arun, in Round 2,
Anton Barash scored 4.5 out of 6 to share 2-3rd place
with Stephen West in the U1750 Section
for a +12 to 1800 rating. Bravo, Anton!
Raymond Xu was a perfect 4 out of 4 in the K-12
U900 Section to take sole position of 1st place,
with a rating of +69 to 920. Bravo, Raymond!
Daniel Zhou scored 4 out of 4 in the NE Open
K-6th Grade U1400 Section for clear 1st place
and a rating of +42 to 1320! Bravo, Daniel.
FM Denys Shmelov, BCC 2012 Blitz Chess Champion
won the 10 Round NE Open Blitz Chess Champoionship
with 9 points, far ahead of the rest of the field, for clear 1st place.
